Hi!

Planning to patch our 10g DB. After the patching, will the DB have to collect new statistics? Ie, will the CBO still work in the same way as it did before or will our DBs be very slow in the beginning (if new statistics are needed)?

It is patch 18 for Windows 2003 (64).

Yes but the default configuration in 10g is that Oracle does it itself.

No.

Slower, faster, equal. It depends on your environment.
