Hi.
I am looking for some help.
We have a requirement to backup a 24x7 datbase, it is currently around 400 GB and growing rapidly.
Running Oracle 10.2.0.1.0
O/S Windows 2003 R2
My initial plan was:
1. Schedule RMAN through EM - Backup Level 0 on Sunday (to disk)
2. Schedule EM - Backup Level 1 Mon-Sat (to disk)
3. All disks backed up to tape every night Netbackup.
This worked wel until day five when I ran out of disk space. Also the tape backups are taking a long time so this is not effective.
Would the following strategy be successful for recovery?
1. Full backup Level 0 (Sunday)
2. Archive logs backed up Monday - Saturday
3. Files to tape every night
If this strategy is in place would it still be a requirement to do a datafile copy/backup or is this just an extra backup step?
Thanks
Mark
