Dear All,

How to monitor the segment space which is relased by a table segment which created within a big file tablespace on ASM file system.

You can observe that, 'dba_segments.blocks' gets modified as and when any truncate or drop performed on tradional file (in this case UNIX) system.

But somehow I couldn't find any change in the 'dba_segment' view after a truncate or drop carried on oracle database which is live on ASM file system.

The only differnce is file system which is supporting the above mentioned databases.

Request all your valuable inputs on this.

Oracle & ASM version =10.2.0.2.0
OS & Machine = SUN OS 5.10 sun4us sparc FJSV,GPUZC-M

Thanks.
Praveen.
