Hi All,
We are having One diskgroup (4 disks, 250GB each from SAN). Now we need to add space and for that we are going to allocate space through Netapp filer (FAS-940).
Now i have below queries:
1. Do we need to create the disk of different sizes across the different diskgroups (can we create disks of 100GB each for different diskgroup).
2. How to create raw disk from FAS-940 (I know only one option "mkfile" to create file and provide to ASM but this option is not good. But can i create the file of say 100GB using "mkfile".
3. Can we add raw disks from SAN and NAS into the one disk group.
Please suggest.
Thanks in advance

Hi Frank,
We are using Oracle 10g and we need to add space from Netapp.
But i know that we can add disk by creating the files of say 100GB using "mkfile" command but this is not recommended as these are cooked files.
1. So What is the way to create and add disk through Netapp (FAS-940).
2. Can we create the disk of 100GB through Netapp.
Please suggest on the above.
Thanks
Gulshan
