Hii,

I have problem in opening OEM in my system. Since i am using oracle8i for the first time, I want to know whether oracle8i has that option of using OEM. And i cannot see any emctl or oemctl files in bin folder.

the error what i am getting is
http://hlldb:5500/em

Internet Explorer cannot display the web page

Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.

What you can try:
Check your Internet connection. Try visiting another website to make sure you are connected.

Retype the address.

Go back to the previous page.

but here, my Internet is working fine

Or am i using right path to access OEM.
please help

OEM was not web based in 8i. You need to use oemapp console from a command prompt on the database server. For the client side, you have to install the Oracle client to use the OEM app.
