hi there,

i have upgraded my database from 10.2.0.1 to 10.2.0.3. I have this rman backup level 0 job to do the backup of the database.
In 10.2.0.1 Rman's backup level 0 size used to be around 12GB.

But in version 10.2.0.3 now this size is always around 6 GB.

Does anyone know why rman backup set size is smaller in version 10.2.0.3?

Thanks

Garry

AFAIK, there is no reason unless you empty some files or use compress option.
But maybe they fix a bug I don't know which led to a too big backup in initial version.
You can check patchset bugs list (in readme file).
