Hi Experts,
i am facing a problem that my archive log destination is filling very fast.
The space that was available in the partition earlier in the day was sufficient for 3-5 days of "normal" archive log buildup, yet it seems to have filled up in only about a 45 minute time frame immediately before the processing stopped.
oblem that my archive log destination very fast.i am unable to find the exact reason. could you please help me out??

Thanks,
Daniesh

You can check v$sesstat for statistic 'redo size' (join with v$statname) to know which sessions currently generate redo.

You can also use LogMiner to know what happened.

Oracle does not purge your archived logs. Precise your point.

v$archived_log, v$loghist, v$log_history

If it is from 14 Feb, you have to use Log Miner which is available in 8i.
