Hi Gurus,

I am new to the forum and i have an issue ,
iam working on discoverer 10g 10.1.2..
I'd like to retreive just one row of data from a set of rows, based on which row has the highest value in a given data field. I believe Discoverer used to have a MAX() function, but that doesn't seem to be the case with 10g.
plz help me...

Thanks

Amrita

Yes it does, under calculations. However, I believe you need rank, not max.

skooman is right, i would append, even dense_rank.

My advice is.. do most of the job directly from SQL in the database, then go work with any application that will use the database.
