Hi guys,

The other day, I got tons of errors like this in my alert log:

Thu Jan 10 12:58:46 2008
ORA-01555 caused by SQL statement below (Query Duration=1199987926 sec, SCN: 0x0000.f9b0297c):
Thu Jan 10 12:58:46 2008
table_4_2000_4569_0_452a_0

I couldn't trace what process or query has caused this since I am not given the actual query. I only got a weird name of an object - probably a table name. The table/object name above is basically the same on all 84 ORA-0155 that I can see from the alert log.

Our undo retention is already high and rollback segments are pretty big too. Any idea on what the error above might have caused by?

Thanks.

This table name is in fact a LOB, you have to increase the PCTVERSION parameter or use the RETENTION option.

Thanks, Michel.

We'd need to see if this is just an intermittent error out of one run away process. Otherwise, we have your advice on hand.

Thanks again and more power!

Michel could very well be correct once again.
For more possibilities visit http://asktom.oracle.com & do a keywork search on ORA-01555
