Hi!

I have a question, when using sga_max_size you set the maximum value for the SGA. I have 1GB of sga_max_size and sga_target 400M, will Oracle reserve 1GB immediately? Or will it only allocate more memory when it needs it?

Regards
H

It allocates the maximum at startup (it seems to me that this changes in 11g for some platforms but I'm not sure).

Michel
