Hello everyone, i have some severe problem.The table in my database is showing strange symbols like ½«¶¯³Þ³©±½¬Þ´µ°º½²².I have 1000 records in my table.Out of these 80 records are having bad data.It happens only in only column called customer_name.its datatype is varchar2(40).i have also checked language settings,its American english format.Please tell me if any one has solution.thanks in advance.

It is possible the problem is with your client s/w & not the DB.

Your application might be using some sort of encryption to store customers' personal information.
