hello
i have an oracle 9i database on a windows server name "abc"
i want to upgrade this database to 10g R2 on another windows server

so

i created another database on the new server and named it "abc" then i imported all the data from the old 9i to the new 10g R2 database

my issue is that i dont want to check every parameter from the 9i database and use it in the 10g ?
what can i do to have the new 10 g database with the same parameters as the 9i ?

can i create a pfile from the 9i spfile
and edit this file for the 10g ?

any help is appreciated
thanks

Yes, but keep in mind some v9 parameters are obsoleted in V10 & V10 supports parameters which did not exist in V9.
