how important is the contents of cdump directory? can it affect the whole database if i delete any file from inside the cdump directory..? because this directory keep on growing everyday and im afraid that it will affect the production....because the last downtime of our server was due to no space in the archivelog directory...

Thsi directory is for core dumps.
It is safe to delete these files.
Nevertheless you should first investigate why you have these dumps. I ran Oracle for years with hundreds databases without having any file in it.
Check your alert.log file.
