I am trying to create a link from oracle 10g to sql serever but not successful
i have created a dsn for sql server on local machine
my new tnsnames.ora looks like this

bst =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS_LIST =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = aaa)(PORT = 1521))
)
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SERVICE_NAME = bst)
)
)

ast =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS_LIST =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = aaa)(PORT = 1521))
)
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SERVICE_NAME = ast)
)
)

EXTPROC_CONNECTION_DATA =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS_LIST =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = IPC)(KEY = EXTPROC0))
)
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SID = PLSExtProc)
(PRESENTATION = RO)
)
)

msql =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS_LIST =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = tcp)(host=abcd)(port=1433))
)
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SID = msql)
)
(HS=OK)
)

and listener.ora looks like this

LISTENER =
(DESCRIPTION_LIST =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = aaa)(PORT = 1433))
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = IPC)(KEY = EXTPROC0))
)
)

SID_LIST_LISTENER =
(SID_LIST =
(SID_DESC =
(SID_NAME = PLSExtProc)
(ORACLE_HOME = D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1)
(PROGRAM = extproc)
)
)

SID_LIST_LISTENERMSQL =
(SID_LIST =
(SID_DESC =
(SID_NAME = MSQL)
(ORACLE_HOME = D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1)
(PROGRAM = hsodbc)
)
)

LISTENERMSQL =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = abcd)(PORT = 1433))
)

when i tns ping ast or bst it is working fine
but when i tnsping msql (sql server ) it gives error
TNS-12537: TNS:connection closed
and i cannot even see the service handlers in

However, you might try with the Oracle heterogeneous service ODBC agent. Here is a walkthrough; perhaps you'll find it useful.
