Hello everyone,
I wanted to know what is the best approach for backing up a PROD environment.
I have one of 2 alternatives (which I still don't know any details of how to do them):
1) Using RMAN
2) Hot Backup using SQL scripts and making tablespaces in backup mode
I wanted to know how to do those types of backup, and what is the best way to do the backup.
We need to do the backup on Tape device. Database size is around 110 GB, this is an Oracle Applications 11.5.10.2 Database release 10.1.0.5.
Best regards,
Fadi Abadir

Thanks a lot... this was of great help..
I just wanted to add one point, I am unable to find the documentation for the 10gR1 database. Looks like they removed it.
Does the same apply as in the 10gR2 document to the 10gR1?
Thanks again...appreciate your help
