IMO, you need to make the above failure no longer occurs, before attempting another invocation of this utility.

I have have NO idea about your environment & you presented no details, You're On Your Own (YOYO)!

The above means that Oracle knows a datafile is missing.
Depending upon which datafile/tablespace is involved, you may or may not be able to open the database.

The main question that first comes to mind is, "Does the source database have all its files intact?".

hi, thanks for your quick response, referring to the note, i found that the /hld/orahld/hlddb/8.1.7/dbs/MISSING00373 is actually referring to /hld/orahld/hlddata/mrp04.dbf, the file is being copy during cloning, but some how, it could not find the file.

I will try to redo all the cloning process(from adpreclone on source system) tonight and see whether the problem can be solved.

I don't have metalink access, the note I am actually getting from my friend, appreciate if you could download for me any notes in future.

thanks for your help.

Your friend could be in BIG TROUBLE for violating his contract with Oracle by sharing copyrighted material with YOU!
If you need access to MetaLink, I suggest you contract for it legally as opposed to conspiring with others to do illegal acts.
