I want to migrate production data to development environment. Prodcution Environment is using 64-bit Oracle 10g R2 and Development Environment is using 32-bit Oracle 10g R2. OS is Windows 2003 64-bit and Windows 2003 32-bit respectively. Current Production db size is approx. 1 TB. What is the best approach(e.g data pump, Transportable tablespace) to migrate data from production environment to development environment? Can I just copy data files from production environment to development enviroment, recreate control file and bring up the db at development environment?

Just want to update the status. To be summarized: copying datafile from 64-bit and 32-bit environment didn't work.

Metalink Note: 62290.1
Changing between 32-bit and 64-bit Word Sizes

I've done this successfully on more than 1 occasion.
