Hi,
When we start Oracle 10g Database, by default, a new background
process (mmon) will start which will gather all the statistics required to run AWR.
In case we don't buy AWR license, We have to use statspack to monitor our database insted of AWR.
My Question :
Does this scenario will have double impact on database to collect statistics ?
Also please verify, if my above understanding is correct or not.
Thanks

AFAIK No,
You no need to buy any additional license for AWR report.
In Oracle 10g. AWR report is used instead of STATSPACK report.
statspack report is also there you can use it.
but awr report is easy to create and easy to read in HTML format.
just run "awrrpt.sql" script for create AWR report.
Default time interval is 60 minutes but you can edit.
awrrpt.sql script located in "$oraclehome/rdbms/admin" folder.
