I've configured a streams replication between two servers, one linux and one windows, both systems using the same configuration with oracle 10.2.0 (tables replicated bi-directionally).On windows system hard disk utilization is very high (total byte reads of oracle process reach 5GB in about 6 minutes!).There is no such problem in linux . I found that the condition caused by the capture process. Capture process reads Redo logs continusely and make this disk utilization ,but total read bytes by capture is much more than total size of redo logs(and grows faster)! what is the problem with capture process in windows?
