Hello everyone,

I'm trying to get Enterprise Manager 10g Grid Control connected to an agent (OS is HP-UX, Oracle DB 10.2.0.3). I already have the EM installed and running and I have the agent installed on the client machine (both are on different servers). When I try to detect the agents on EM grid control, it does not find the client. So next I logged into the client, which has a single database on it, and tried running the 'emctl status agent' command but that comes up with this error:

EM Configuration issue - $ORACLE_HOME/hostname_SID cannot be found.

I get the same error when I try to issue the start emctl command. My environment is set correctly, both home and the SID are right. I selected to install the agent when I installed Oracle itself so I'm pretty sure its there. That would mean I should be able to run the emctl start agent command to get it started, correct? If anyone is aware of this problem and how to resolve it, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You
