Hi,

I have installed Oracle 9i and 10g on my windows xp system.But the 9i service and listener wont start giving error 997.
Error 997 in windows means "Overlapped I/O operation is in progress

Also oradim for 9i gives: DIM-00019 create service error

My installation was fine also have separate homes and have also using current variables for ORACLE_SID,ORACLE_HOME and PATH.But still not able to start the service or create new one

Please let me know how to resolve it

Copy and paste what you did.
Copy and paste your environment variables
Post your Oracle version with 4 decimals.

1. 10.2.0.1.0: Working fine
ORACLE_HOME=D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1
PATH=D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\bin
ORACLE_SID=Orcl
TNS_ADMIN=D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\network\admin

2. 9.2.0.1.0: Giving 997 Error:OVerlapped I/O operation in progress
ORACLE_HOME=C:\Oracle\ora92
PATH=C:\Oracle\ora92\bin
ORACLE_SID=Orcl9c
TNS_ADMIN=C:\Oracle\ora92\network\admin
