Hello All,
I am planning to Upgrade my existing 9.2.0.5 database to 10gR2. My current block size is 4k and would like to change the block size to 8k on the new database.
If i am creating a 10g database, i need to use the same server where my existing 9i database resides. In order to do that, i need to export the 9i database schema's and import them into the newly created 10g database(with 8k block size). My question here is, in order to do that, i guess i need to have double the space that i have on the server right now. Is there any other way around to upgrade my database to 10g and change the block size to 8k?.
Thanks,
Vikramjogi

I have just the 9i database now on the server(block size 4k) and i am planning on upgrading it to 10g with the block size changed to 8k. i.e a fresh installation of 10g. In order to do that, i thought i should be taking an export from 9i database and import it onto the 10g database, if that is the case, the same data will be present in two databases(i.e double the size). Please correct me if i wrong.

Michel,
May be i am missing something. I am trying to upgrade my database from 9i to 10g. Right now my block size is 4k, i am planning on changing it to 8k. Can you please suggest me what might be the best way of doing.
Thanks,
