The most simple way is to avoid building a distributed database.
It should only be attempted by those who can design a rock solid single database application in the 1st place and
it should only be undertaken when a single system can't scale to meet the application's requirements.

Distributed database is not something you built. It is a logical/functional idea (for Oracle).
It means an application works with a set of databases as if it one big and distributed one.

You can start there: http://www.oracle.com/pls/db102/ranked?word=distributed+database&remark=federated_search
Then search on Google.

In less than half an hour you read all what is in Database Concepts, Administrator's Guide, Application Developer's Guide - Fundamentals about distributed database.
I think you know much more than I do.

What is the beginning? Create at least 2 databases and a database link between them.

Quote:

Distributed database has nothing to do with communication between client and server, it is databases communicating between them.
This is why you don't see any information on communication between client and server.

No difference with other configuration with no distributed databases just the remote database must be reachable by the other ones it cooperates.

Hello adee_saleh,

Starting from the beginning, step by step:

1) What do you mean or understand with "distributed database"?
