Hi

Guys
I tried to create the passwordfile by using below command the i got the error:


vijaya@elara</home/oracle/product/10.2.0/bin>orapwd file=$ORACLE_HOME/dbs/ORAPWWFC password=oracle entries=30

where my SID=WFC



Unable to find error file.
Error code 1
Segmentation fault

Did you set your envirmoent variables?

try the same command from dbs folder.

Thanks for advice

but here the thing is it is first week of my job and also they have not given me the enough acccess and privilages to go into other directories too.
They have not provide me SYSDBA/SYSOPER privilages yet , as i have joined as ORACLE DBA, thats funny isnt it?

so i guess thats why i am facing problem.

also when i use SQLPLUS i can not use editor too.
it gave me error

SP2-0110: Cannot create save file "afiedt.buf"

and i tried to go to SQLPLUS directory but i could not.
what else i need to do to set this file , when i get the access.


i appreciate your advice

this is because of the user don't have permission on OS.
