Hi Everyone;
I have the following TNSNAMES file on the clients of an application accessing a 2 node RAC config, Oracle 10g.
ax =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = ax01-vip)(PORT = 1521))
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = ax02-vip)(PORT = 1521))
(LOAD_BALANCE = yes)
(FAILOVER=ON)
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SERVER = DEDICATED)
(SERVICE_NAME = ax)
(FAILOVER_MODE=(BACKUP=ax02)(TYPE=SELECT)(METHOD=BASIC)))
)
)
Does this look correct? Also, do I have to add the failover parameter to the TNSNAMES files on the nodes? I was never aware of the TNDNAMES on the nodes, I thought TNSNAMES was only used on the client side. Thanks for the help
