hi,

Oracle:10.2.0
WindowsNT

I am taking automatic backups using RMAN, scheduled in OS scheduler(using batch file).
In case any backup failures or errors i need to send alert mails
automatically to my mail. How to do this ?

TIA,

Are you really running Oracle V10.2 on Windoze NT?
Is that a certified combination; I suspect NOT!

Automatic alert mail can be found in grid control or probably in db control. I never tried it yet and will do soon. Presently, use os level mail that is sent by scheduler or cronjob.
