Hi!,all
I can get the coding of a value with dump function
SQL> select dump(id1) from t;

Typ=96 Len=3: 65,66,67

If there is a function that I get the value from the coding ?

He (or someone of his family) already asked this in another place a few weeks ago.
He wants the opposite of dump function, something that gets a dump output and returns the real value.

It was a reference to La Fontaine's fable, the Wolf and the Lamb (translating word to word: "...if it was not you, it was your brother or someone of your family..." says the Wolf to find a good reason to eat the Lamb).
