I am installing Oracle 11g Beta on RHEL 4. I have started the OUI and when I get to the Install location screen it asks me to specify the Oracle base location and the Oracle Home path. After specifying both:
ORACLE_BASE=/opt/app/oracle
ORACLE_HOME=/opt/app/oracle/product/11.1.0/db_1
It gives me the following error:
Unable to create directory /opt/app/oracle. You may not have the proper permission to create the directory or there is no space left in the volume. Unable to create the Oracle Base you specified.
Please help.
Thanks.

UUGGHHH!! Yes it was a silly chown command that I had forgot. The owner was still root. Once I changed it to oracle:dba it was fine.
And I will try my best to keep you all informed on how 11g Beta is going. The more problems I have with it, the more we will all learn about 11g and can be better prepared for it.
Thank you.
