Hi,

I want to know if there is any way in Oracle 9i or 10g where the Sysdba can login as a normal database user and execute some tasks. For eg if i am a sysdba and i want to login as a database user(say Ram) and execute some function but i dont know the password

I know one where i can change the user password, execute the package and again put the old password back from password column in dba_users,but this is not the reight way.

Please suggest

Ram

There is no other way to do it.
There is no "su" procedure in Oracle.

if RAM is assigned as Sysdba ,RAM has privilege to anything.i am wondering why you require to login as RAM/Password ?

This is a quite good question.
Maybe to not do something that must not be done with SYSDBA privilege?
