256 colors display problem when installing DB 10g on solaris 10 for intel [message #241122]

Hi all,
i have solaris 10 for Intel on my machine as OS,
i tried to install oracle database 10g.
but an error keeps going , that display colors must be at least 256,

I'm a beginner on Unix OS,

how can i solve this problem ???

Have you set your DISPLAY variable ?

no i did not !

how can i know my machine's IP ?
is it ( ifconfig ) ?

and when i run this command oracle db 10g can install successfully ?

Just type

in your command prompt.

Then re-run the Installer.

It might work, It might not.

Try with export and not EXPORT

im on same enviroment

as a user root type command

DISPLAY=urip:0.0

and then user
oracle

enter

EXPORT DISPLAY=urip:0.0

Why would you want to change user.....

If it's still not working for you. Then you probably need to be running an X-Windows on your PC

Its working for me....and i just installed 5 times oracle then five times patches today with the same method.
I didnt get any error regarding Color display.
