Do you want to know how many databases you have in your system, or how many instances you have in a database?

No command.
Database are just files.
How to know which one belongs to an (valid) Oracle database?

Michel

To change your ORACLE_SID you have to know which SID are there.
You can open your "Control Panel/Services" box and check all OracleServiceXXX to know available SID.
Remark: SID are instance names not databases.
