I was wondering, whats the co-relation between Database Blocks and OS blocks? Let's say, I have a database running on a 64-bit OS and the database block size is 8kb.

How does an O/S handle and fullfill any block request from database?

Appreciated if someone please advice.

Thanks,
Cali

typically DB block > OS block
so why does it matter (to you)?
Once you have the answer, how will it change your life?

Cali,

If you want an answer, first be polite with those who can help you.
Next Ana gives the answer (although I said >= instead of >).
