How to recover database when we miss our control file and we dont have any backup of control file??

You search in your memory what are all your database parameters and files and where there are and you manually build a control file using the create controlfile statement.

But you should aways have at least 2 control files (on different disks) and regularly make backups.

Myself, I think where should I put this bloody configuration form I fulled when I created the database.
For you, I don't know, have a look on your desktop.

memory here means something you have (or would have) between eyes and hair, just behind the forehead. Smile

Hi,
Agree with Michel and in addition to that If u have the the alert log file atleast there u can find the init parameter values. Ur backup strategy shd take the trace of the control file atleast.
