I want to import a database from Oracle 8.1.7.3 enterprise edition to 10 g Express i have de dmp file from Oracle 8 Prod.dmp
i give the following command :
impdp prod/prod dumpfile=prod.dmp logfile=import.log [enter]
i get the following error:
Ora-39001: invalid argment value
Ora-39000: bad dump file specification
Ora-39143: dump file "C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\admin\XE\dpdump\prod.dmp" may be an original export dump file
Does somebody know how to solve this ?
Or know a other solution ? to import de dmp file?

I tried this
Import tool:
C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server\BIN>imp prod/prod full=yes

Export file created by EXPORT:V08.01.07 via conventional path
import done in WE8MSWIN1252 character set and AL16UTF16 NCHAR character set
export client uses WE8ISO8859P1 character set (possible charset conversion)
IMP-00067: Could not convert to server character set's handle
IMP-00000: Import terminated unsuccessfully
Importdp tool:
C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server\BIN>impdp prod/prod
Import: Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Production on Tuesday, 10 April, 2007 15:00:58
