I am trying to install oracle 9i patch set 2 on windows 2000, When i try installing with server.bat or setup.exe it would not do any thing and installation will not start. Any help is appreciated.

Start it from the command prompt
or
you should have another setup.exe under \install\win32

Can you pl eloberate, you mean i go to dos and change the directory to oracle cd, and then type in set.exe or server.bat.

Well, you won't start a nuclear reaction if you go to DOS and change the directory to oracle cd, and then type in setup.

Another option would be copying the whole CD into a directory on your hard-disk and run the installation from there.

OraFAQ ForumYou got me wrong, i am new to all this hence i was just
clarifying as to what you meant and what i thought is same. Secondly i am already trying to install from CD down loaded on hard disk. i will try dos command and will come back to you with result.

OK. No problem. I just meant that running SETUP.EXE isn't that dreadful as it, maybe, looks at first sight.
