Greetings,
Could you please give me some info on the $ORACLE_HOME/dbs/lkDBNAME ?
What is it used for? can we delete it or rename it?
Is it created automatically by the Oracle Instance upon startup?
What happens if the Instance is shut down?
Thanks.

the lk<dbname> file is used for locking shared memory and was introduced in 7.3.x by stop corrupting the database by opening it. The file remains if the database was not shutdown properly
