Hi,
I am in the designing and implementation of a Datawarehouse Profitability Solution for our client. I am working in the datawarehouse environment for the first time.
I have read that for ETL it's good to use OWB or some other ETL tools. However ETL can also be written through PL/SQL coding, so why do we need OWB? what is the significance of using OWB in datawarehouse environment. What role does OWB play in datawarehouse environment? Please guide me...

ETL can be done by conventional programming languages or using an ETL tool.Informatica,Cognos and Oracle are providing sophisticated ETL tools for implementing ETL process in a given data ware house environment.
