When I clicked finish on Oracle 10g installation form it was supposed to launch Oracle Home page, from which I coul login. The problem is that home page can't be displayed (url=http://127.0.0.1:8080/htmldb). During the installation http port was set on 8080. All my web servers are stopped: tomcat(works on 8080) and apache(some other port).

Where should this home page files be installed? I could open them directly if I knew where they are.

What about http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex? Would that do any good?

It's the same: "Unable to connect".

I don't get it. There should be some http server running tu handle the request, but when I type http://127.0.0.1:8080 in my browser it displays "Unable to connect" message. Does anybody know how this works?

Is Oracle database up? Check Windows services - there should be a service whose name is something like 'OracleServiceXE' or 'OracleService10g' or similar. Try to restart it. Also, check 'OracleTNSListener' service.

Following Oracle related services are started:
OracleMTSRecoveryService
OracleServiceXE
OracleXEClrAgent
OracleXETNSListener

OracleJobScheduler is disabled by default.

It looks all right to me.

Hmm ... perhaps port is wrong? Search for 'portlist.ini' file and see what is in there (you'll find it in a directory like 'c:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\install').

My folder structere is not like you mentioned. From oracle root I have two folders - app and orrdata. I could nowhere find such a .ini file, neither any .ini file with the "port" as a part of a name.
