How can I use Discoverer4 EUL by Discoverer10 Desktop client [message #224003]

Hi everybody;

I want to learn that how I can use Disc4 EUL by Disc10 Desktop client.

I am using discoverer 4.1.41 desktop edition and EUL. When I want to run discoverer4 on win2003 I got error. It is not certified on Win2003. But discoverer10 can run on Win2003.

Now I want to install discoverer10 (10.1.2) on Win2003 as client and connect to same EUL (4.1.41). I dnt wnt to create new EUL for disc10. I want to use same EUL for discoverer 4.1.41.

How can I do it.

Anybody can help me..????

We have
Oracle Application : 11.5.7
rdbms : 8.1.7

You can't. Discoverer end user tools version 10g only work on an EUL version 10g.
However, the upgrade is really easy: start the 10g Administrator, it will notify you that you have an old version of the EUL and ask if you want to upgrade. Choose yes and that's it.

PS Please test this before throwing it onto production...

Thanks for your answer.

I think that I have to back to Win2000.

I am disappointed about Oracle and Windows. I couldnt use the new features of Win2003 becase of the discoverer.

I hope to use true color and LPT mapping of Win2003 terminal server.

But I cdnt find any solition, there is nothing. No workound, no patch....

Actually, the workaround is to upgrade the EUL, just according to documentation, certification matrix etc.
Don't blame a product if you refuse to work with it in the way it is intented to work.
