Oracle 10g and 9i on the same Windows Server 2003 box [message #219061] Mon, 12 February 2007 15:36 Go to next message

Can oracle 10g and 9i run together on the same windows server 2003 box? I know it will be a resource drain but that's not a concern here. I was thinking about it and since they are going to share the registry and the environment variable how will the two be installed? Doesn't the installer create the environment variable? So, if it was possible how do I separate the two? Again if this is possible is there some documentation available on setting them up?

Kind Regards,
AI

Yes, it's possible. They should be installed into separate ORACLE_HOME and you'll have to set the non-default environment variables when needed.

If you stop 9i listener, how can you assign 10g for the 9i?
