HI,
Clone database ---> Some copy of PROD database for TEST or DEV purpose.in case failure of PROD database we cann't use CLONE DATABASE as an PROD database.
standby database ---> Some copy of PROD database for recovery purpose. in case failure of PROD database we can switch STANDBY database ( or use standby database like a PRODUCTION DATABASE).
two types of standby database.
1.physical database
2.logical database
regards
Taj
