Hi,
I am trying to config hummingbird exceed 2007. I am following this document http://oit.utk.edu/scc/HowToConfigureExceed.doc.
According to the document, its asking me to choose SSH in the xstart. But I only have putty installed on my machine. I only see methods like RSH,REXEC,RLOGIN,TELNET in Xstart. I tried using TELNET. But i get this error:
Unable to connect to host using specified start method.
Can anybody help me?
Thank you.

I do have the same exact putty like yours. But I dont see ssh in Xstart of hummingbird exceed where I should select ssh for the method.
I selected X11 forwarding in putty and tried xclock command.
It gives error: can't open display
I also did export DISPLAY= IP:0.0 and tried xclock.
Gives same error.
Please help

Hmmmm....
throughout this whole thread I see no mention of OS name or version.
I'm running Oracle on both Solaris & Linux.
In both cases upon initial (first time) login to the "oracle" account (uid) using Secure-CRT with X11 forwarding enabled,
the OS automagically creates the .Xauthority file AND establishes
DISPLAY=localhost:10.0
At this point, You're On Your Own (YOYO)!
