i am using oracle 10.2.0.1.0.
i have a sql statement joining 12 tables, which earlier use to execuate between 12 to 14 sec, now it's taking 3.2 to 4.3 sec.
from my observation I have 2 set of plans.
1. where cost is about 43 it exec in 3.2 to 4.3 sec avg.
2. where cost is about 20 it exec in 12 to 14 sec avg.
can any one explain me on this.
next
is their any method to bring down the exec of statement
from 3.2 sec..
do plz suggest me about this...
Thanks

to what?
1 nanosecond?

I would look into 10053 trace output to see why CBO chose the other plan. Where the queries run in identical load/data situations?
