you mean i can create a 100gb datafile on windows or unix with no problem, and what is the bigfile tablespace in 10g

hello
what is the datafile size limit on windows based systems and on unix based systems, another question :
"alter system set something=something" by default the scope is memory or it updates the spfile also;

Default is BOTH if you used an spfile to start the instance and MEMORY if you used an init file. Again, it's in the docs.
