httpd fails to shutdown using adapcctl.sh [message #207428]

after script exits with status 0, pid files remain in logs directory, along with many httpd, java & rotatelogs processes.

error in error_log: (written 5 times every 3 secs)
OPM:Fail to call fnctl with rlock

in mod_jserv.log
apj12: Servlet Error: ClassNotFoundException: discoservlet

using Apache 1.3.19, rollup 4 on solaris 5.8
recent upgrade to 11.5.10.2 applications

Can anyone tell me what these errors mean?
