Hello!

Overview: I have two Oracle 9i databases, one in Japan and one in Germany. The one in Japan is Unicode capable but not the one in Germany. To display the Japan Kan-ji chars in the German-DB we are experiencing with fields of type NCHAR or NVARCHAR. It works fine so far if we copy and paste Kan-ji into the German-DB or Select/Insert from one table within German-DB to another table within German-DB.

Problem: If we try to Insert data over database link from Japanese-DB to German-DB we get upside down ? in the NCHAR and NVARCHAR fields.

Could someone please give me some hints to solve the problem? Google didn't give me good answers to my questions.

With kind regards and much thanks in advance,

Andy
