hi

is there a book "the holy bible of database design" as there is for example the "TCP/IP Illustrated" series by richard stevens for tcp/ip networks?

any suggestions are welcome.

I think it's too big a subject for a single book. For example, what type of database do you want to design ? A data warehouse, where the database has been optimized for querying ? Or an OLTP system, where the speed of updates is more important ? It would be likely having a book which covers both the design of both automobiles and jet fighter planes.
