RDBMS Version: 10.2.0.2.0
Operating System and Version: Solaris 10
Error Number (if applicable):
Product (i.e. SQL*Loader, Import, etc.): dbca
Product Version: 10.2.0.2.0
DBCA says The current version of CRS is null
I have installed the Oracle clusterware 10.2.0.1 and then patched it to 10.2.0.2 sucessfully.
Then I have installed the Oracle database software 10.2.0.1 and installed the patch 10.2.0.2 sucessfully.
Now I am going to install the DBCA.
I have selected the "Oracle Real Application cluster database" from the first screen.
I have selected "create a database" from the second screen and clicked next.
I got a popup window with a message :
"The current version of CRS is: null. Please upgrade CRS to version 10.2 before continuing. If a rolling upgrade of CRS was in progress, complete that first."
Now I am not able to proceed further.
Please help.

DreamzZ,
I sincerely appreciate your response.
Unfortunately I can't put the screenshot because that system is totally outside of email/internet. Anyway, here is exactly what's happening.
1. CRS is running & showing all the resources (on both nodes) ONLINE.
2. Under that situation, I start dbca (as owner oracle).
dbca -> Oracle Real Application Clusters database -> Create a database (or even Configure Automatic Storage Management) ->
A small window pops up and gives the message:
The current version of CRS is: null. Please upgrade CRS to version 10.2 before continuing. If a rolling upgrade of CRS was in progress, complete that first.
After this, I can't go any further -- totally stuck & has no clue what is the problem!
To let you know that, there was no upgrade going on.
Both software & active versions on both the nodes are 10.2.0.1.0, the RDBMS is also same on both the nodes.
It's a system I am trying to build at home for learning & fun, extremely controlled.
Thanks again for your response & help.
Sincerely,
orafaq_system

check your requriments for DBCA
heres and example
Quote: | Verifying Requirements for DBCA
To help to verify that your system is prepared to create Oracle Database with RAC successfully, enter a Cluster Verification Utility (CVU) command using the following command syntax:
mountpoint/crs/Disk1/cluvfy/runcluvfy.sh stage -pre dbcfg -n node_list -d oracle_home [-verbose]
In the preceding syntax example, the variable mountpoint is the mountpoint of the installation media, the variable node_list is the list of nodes in your cluster, separated by commas, and the variable oracle_home is the path for the Oracle home directory where OUI creates or modifies the database.
For example, to perform a check to determine if your system is prepared for an Oracle Database with RAC on a two-node cluster with nodes node1 and node2, with the mountpoint /dev/dvdrom/, and with the Oracle home path /oracle/product/10.2.0, enter the following command:
/dev/dvdrom/crs/Disk1/cluvfy/runcluvfy.sh stage -pre dbcfg -n node1,node2 -d /oracle/product/10.2.0/

orafaq_system wrote on Fri, 29 June 2007 12:14 | I tested, everything passed except "Membership of user oracle in group "dba" [as primary]" -- Failed on both nodes.
When I created "oracle", I assigned "oinstall" as it's primary group.
Can this be the reason or something else?
Thanks again for all your help.
