Hello

We have some problems connecting an OAS 10.1.2.0.0 to an Oracle8i Enterprise Edition Release 8.1.7.4.1 Database.

When the application is trying to establish the connection with DB, the following error is thrown:

java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1 ORA-12705: invalid or unknown NLS parameter value specified.

We have checked several times the NLS configuration in both OAS and DB, in which the NLS are setted to AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8ISO8859P1.

Any help would be appreciated.

8i doesn't understand new charactersets like AL32UTF8, AL16UTF8 etc, so if you see anything else which looks like a characterset in the app server environment - double check it.

I tried once for the connectivity of Oracle 10g and 8i but could not succeeded. Because Oracle 10g can connect with Oracle 9i. U please check connectivity with Oracle 9i with the same code if succeeded then that was the real problem.
