Hi

We have our DBMS_JOB to take the daily export dump.Today while i check the export dump log file,it shows me the following error. Also we have enabled the auditing on the DB.
errors:
EXP-00056: ORACLE error 9945 encountered
ORA-09945: Unable to initialize the audit trail file
SVR4 Error: 28: No space left on device
EXP-00030: Unexpected End-Of-File encountered while reading input
EXP-00000: Export terminated unsuccessfully

I know that this error is due to the audit destination full.So i had deleted half of the *.aud files in the destination. After that when i tried to log on as "SYS" it throws me this error message:

SQL> conn /as sysdba
ERROR:
ORA-09817: Write to audit file failed.
SVR4 Error: 28: No space left on device
ORA-01075: you are currently logged on

But it allows me to anter as "SYSTEM" in to the DB.
Please clear my doubt and give me the solution to the problem.

Thanks
Raaj. Embarassed

Connections as SYSDBA are always audited, that's why you can connect as SYSTEM and not as SYS. Have you verified you have write privileges to the audit directory?

Finally, how can we delete audit files.
From cmd prompt?
I am using Oracle 10g. Is it safe to delete .aud file from adump folder from Linux server.
I am getting the same error message mentioned on login to sys.

Please reply immediately.

Amit
